Book of the Month Clubs

WordHaven BookClubs are facilitated by a variety of folks in the community and are an opportunity to reflect, learn, and grow with others.

If desired, folks can purchase books in our Sheboygan shop or online. And people can participate in-person at our on-site BookClub sessions or via Facetime/Zoom. We also have Facebook Groups where people can discuss the books (don’t worry- no spoilers are shared before the meetings).

Another option is to sign up for our monthly subscription plans where you can either pick up books at the shop (wrapped and ready to go) or get them shipped anywhere in the United States. We have 1, 3, 6, and 12 month plans available. Feel free to email us with any questions.

Banned BookClub

Facilitated by different folks in our community, this group analyzes the themes in books that have been banned somewhere in our country. Folks can share how they connected to the text, develop a deeper understanding of the themes and characters, and/or discuss why the books were banned (and how they feel about that).

FB Group: WordHaven Banned BookClub

Monthly Subscription Cost: $22 (Local), $30 (Shipped)

TreeHouse BookClub

Facilitated by WordHaven Owner (& English Teacher), Kelly D. Holstine, folks in this BookClub likes do a deep dive into these books. We connect the text to ourselves, other texts, and/or the world.

Everyone is welcome- whether you have read/listened to the entire book, have read/listened to part of it, and/or are just curious to learn more (warning: there will be spoilers).

Silent BookClub

Bring (or buy) the book of your choice and find a cozy spot in the shop to read. Folks can buy books from 6-6:30 and then we will have reading time until 8 PM.

Nuerdivergent BookClub

The Neurodivergent Book Club’s focus is to discover what other neurodivergent minds see in the books they read. Our individual neurodiversity provides each of us a different view of the world around us. Let’s celebrate our different ways of looking at the world through books and build a neurodivergent community together.
